How to Measure for a Perfect Fit

Measuring Tea Cups and Mugs

When you measure your cups be sure to include the handle in the width measurement. If your measurement is slightly larger than our storage protector because of the handle don't worry, it will still fit. For example if the measurement across the top is 4.75" but our storage protector says it is 4.5" then remember that you may turn your cups sideways or slightly slanted and they will still fit securely.

Measuring Glasses

When you measure your glasses you need to measure both the lip and the base seperately. Take the largest measurement and use it as your diameter measurement. For example many glasses have a wider base than the lip of the glass. You need to use the widest measurement in order to ensure that you purchase the proper size. Don't worry if we don't provide a storage protector that is exactly the height of your glass. As long as the diameter measurement is accurate you may safely store glasses "up to" the height of the storage protector.

Measuring Rectangular and Oval Shaped Dishes

The length is the longest side of the dish while the width is the more narrow measurment. On a rectangular or oval dish the length will always be the largest measurement.

Measuring Plates and Bowls

When measuring your plates and bowls you will need to measure the diameter. This is the measurement across the center of the plate or the widest part of the plate. Your charger plates, dinner plates, salad plates, bread and butter plates, bowls and saucers will each measure a different diameter. We provide storage protectors for each of these different sizes. Our storage protectors will hold eight plates or bowls easily. However, depending upon the height of the flare on the edges of the plate or bowl our storage protectors may hold up to twelve plates and bowls comfortably.
