Holiday Recipes

Hi, I'm Jana, a merchant for The Cover Store, and the holidays are my favorite time of year! This is the one time of year where I make time to bake. Some of these recipes are quick and some are more time consuming, but they're all tried and true family recipes that are sure to impress your guests, people at the office or your own family. These are my family's go-to recipes year after year. Enjoy!

Lemon Sugar Cookies

It's a sugar cookie with a hint of lemon flavoring! It sure beats a typical sugar cookie recipe. My kids love them and Santa eats his fair share of them as well! We decorate special ones just for Santa!

Christmas could never pass without this family favorite! There's just something about homemade turtles that's so much better than store bought, and who knew they were so simple!

Rum Cake

My mother-in-law makes this every year and I always look forward to the experience. This is such a blend of flavory goodness and will be a huge hit at family dinner. When you're looking for something different than traditional pie, turn to this gem. You can't go wrong!

Grandma's Pumpkin Bread

When I used to visit Grandma during the holidays, I was always sure to go home with a loaf of pumpkin bread. Grandma can't make it for me anymore, but I bring her a loaf every Christmas and I always make extra to freeze. Thaw it out on Christmas Eve and it makes a quick & easy breakfast for Christmas morning!

Pecan Squares

Dad didn't cook often, but he loved to make these! It's like traditional pecan pie in miniture cookie form. So easy to serve at work or a party since there are no utensils required.

Cream Cheese Cookies

These are my go-to cookies because they're simple and delicious. If you need to make something homemade quick, this is the way to go!

Peanut Butter Balls

These are a tradition from my husband's family that he didn't want to lose! It's a family event because we ALL have to pitch in and roll them into balls. It's always great fun and a great gift for co-workers because there is NO WAY that one family could eat all of them!

Pumpkin Cheesecake Muffins

I love all things pumpkin! These are not quick, but they're worth every minute. They're always a huge hit at parties, the office, or as a treat around the house, but do yourself a favor and make the time to make these.

Banana Nut Bread

This is definitely a classic and another one of Grandma's favorite recipes. Bake this up and serve alongside Grandma's pumpkin bread on Christmas morning.

Great Grandma's Chocolate Pie

Nobody made it like Great Grandma with a pinch of this and a dash of that. As I watched her age, I also watched intently as she made this pie without a recipe every time! This will be the first Christmas that Great Grandma won't be with us, but her Chocolate Pie always will...the tradition must go on!

Peppermint Fudge

There is nothing like peppermint to put you in the holiday spirit.Your friends and family will love this little taste of Christmas!

Pumpkin Swirl Cheesecake

Cheesecake is the best desert on the planet, but when you combine it with pumpkin it's even more spectacular! This amazing desert is requested quite often from my friends and family.

Millionaire Pie

When I don't have time to bake but need something quick, then I turn to this no-bake favorite! It tastes like a million bucks without the time - or money - investment.

Red Velvet Cake Balls

This is our newest family favorite! They always look so festive and are perfect for parties! The whole family can get involved with rolling these into balls and decorating with sprinkles.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cake

This is so easy to make and a huge hit with chocolate lovers! This moist and delicious cake is a great choice to break up the traditional favorites and make your desert stand out.
