How to Measure > Built-In Grill Covers
A built-in grill can be measured just as easily as a standard BBQ grill by following these instructions:
H = Height, determined by measuring from the top of the grill hood (when closed) to the counter (this does not include the flap that covers the controls in front).
L = Length, found by measuring from left to right across the front of the grill (include side rotisserie, if attached).
W = Width (also called depth), calculated by measuring the grill from front to back (be sure to include front handles that can extend out further).
- Bigger is Better, so select an outdoor built-in grill cover size that's slightly larger than your built-in or insert grill dimensions.
- Allow your grill cooking surface to cool down before covering to prevent the grill cover from getting damaged. A good rule of thumb is to wait until you can place your hand on the hood and hold it without having to remove it. If the grill passes this cool down test, it can be covered.
